The Society is an international not-for-profit organization with a mission to make ecotourism a responsible way to travel that contributes to the conservation of natural areas and the well being of local people. The site offers different pages under the headings of conservation, business, professional, research and eco-travel. |

The Ecotravel
Centre, a service of Conservation International
Conservation International focusses on preserving and promoting awareness about the world's most endangered biodiversity through scientific programs, local awareness campaigns and economic initiatives. The Ecotravel Centre presents information on eco-destinations, information on equipment for trips, ability to design an ecotravel experience and a venue for sharing experiences. |

Escarpment Centre Ontario
Escarpment Centre Ontario (ECO) is a planned interpretive centre proposed to be located on Conservation Authority lands near Owen Sound. The Centre when developed will interpret the geological, natural, and cultural history of the Niagara Escarpment, which is a designated UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve. The business plan that we produced for this Centre is available for downloading on this site. |

Aboriginal Tourism Team Canada
Aboriginal Tourism Team Canada (ATTC) is a partnership of business and government to influence and develop tourism policies and programs to benefit Aboriginal people. The Tourism Company, working with the Canadian Tourism Research Institute, Spirit Hawk, the Canadian National Aboriginal Tourism Association (the predecessor to
ATTC) and Beverly O'Neill & Associates developed the framework for a National Aboriginal Tourism Accreditation Program that will be implemented by
ATTC. |

Cree Village Ecolodge
MoCreebec Council of the Cree Nation
the Tourism Company prepared a marketing plan for the introduction and
ongoing marketing of the first designed and purpose-built ecolodge in
Canada. The ecolodge, which opened in July 2000, is attracting domestic and
international travelers seeking ecotourism experiences, while also serving
the local/regional business travel market.

Environmental Impact of Transportation Conference
The Environmental Impact of Transportation Conference will be Planeta's 13th online event. The conference examines how to "get there from here" without leaving an indelible footprint on the environment. The online event takes place through October 24, 2003. The Tourism Company's Mike Robbins will be a participant.
