Getting Your Website Found By Search Engines

This discussion group has been set-up for OFFMA members who viewed the UStream.TV webcast on April 23, 2009 and/or downloaded and listened to the narrated PowerPoint entitled "Getting Your Website Found By Search Engines". ( If you have not downloaded the PowerPoint and wish to do so, please click on this link

The purpose of the discussion group is to provide a forum for OFFMA members to ask questions to clarify or enhance their understanding of web-based marketing and search engines. Jill Vandal and D'Arcy McKittrick of the Tourism Company will monitor the questions/discussion, responding to the questions and contributing to the discussion. Once you have registered a user account (see below), you will automatically receive an e-mail notification whenever a new question, answer or other comment has been posted to the discussion group.

To post questions, answer questions or provide comments on questions posed or answered by others, you will need to register a user account. Follow the instructions, and choose a username and password that is unique to you. Remember these, as you will need to use them to login to the discussion group whenever you wish to post a question or comment. If you have any problem with the registration process, please contact D'Arcy by e-mail (darcy@tourismco.com) or telephone (705 876 7711 in Peterborough) and he will provide technical support.

We have set up 6 topic areas within the discussion forum to assist in grouping together similar questions, answers and other comments. The topic areas coincide with the topics in the PowerPoint presentation, and include:

  • Keywords and landing pages
  • Inbound links
  • meta tags
  • Writing for the web
  • Fresh content
  • Other questions
  • Be active and enjoy!
